StanleyBlade , Apr 22, I will always have a complete all in one box, even if I won't use it much as Maschine. Why not? Sinosure , Apr 23, Show Ignored Content. Your name or email address: Do you already have an account?

To be clear: this is a Linux-powered embedded computer running inside a Maschine controller shell, an outer enclosure very, very close to a Maschine MK3 with some minor but important modifications, including the USB host capability. Reading comments, I gather some of that was unclear. They also have done extensive testing, they say, to make sure that you can use instruments and effects successfully on the available hardware and memory. Unlike on your PC or Mac, or even a desktop Linux box — realtime kernel or no , you can use that CPU meter and in theory get solid performance and timing.
On a computer, all kinds of other variables can wreck that, and performance gets nonlinear as you start to max out CPU resources. They even opened the box and showed me what looked like an never used, pristine unit. Got home and tried to install the software and was told that the software was already registered to another person. It took several days to get that sorted out. Everything worked out ok with NI but I did have to prove that it was a returned item that I purchased.
It only cost me some time and frustration. Thanks for the reply guys! I kinda afraid of the the code now. I guess I got to be extra careful when I buy the product. I just bought one without software from Sam Ash knowingly. Thought I could use it as a midi controller it does have nice pads , but without the maschine software its a brick. The really tried hard for people to not try to use this thing as a controller I can't vibe with it. Took me over an hour just to get this to even work with ableton and its still a pain to do anything with it.
I simply wanted a decent midi controller that could trigger samples I hate this thing because it tries to act like its hardware but its not. Its a midi controller thats simply tied down to the Maschine software IE its just a product of some good software developers and a marketing team. Thankfully I will be returning this thing as its garbage. It's very similar to a Push in functionality.
For DJ stuff, the Serato and Traktor templates floating around are pretty powerful also. Honestly as a production tool, the Maschine controller works best with the Maschine software. There's no way around that. Save the critique till you've actually had the full Maschine experience.
I was highly doubtful at first, then I bought Maschine and understood what the hype is all about. Simply put, Maschine is the easiest, most full featured production system I've used Especially with Komplete, the integration is so tight. Minimal setup, you just turn it on and get to work. I also own hardware stuff like, MPCs, workstation keyboards Triton, Fantom, Motif, etc , and various synths, rack samplers, drum machines.
Even having all that crap sitting around, Maschine is 1 because it's proven to be the most productive environment to crank out tracks. It's become my favorite instrument. I made around tracks in the first month with. You will get an amazing library of just about every orchestral sound you could imagine.
Its a great way to get familiar with their products before spend a ton of money of their libraries, as most orchestral libraries are quite expensive. As far as value, I definitely feel they are worthy of the upgrade I have not always felt that in my 13 versions of purchasing Komplete software updates.
From realistic sample libraries to out of this world synths, there is something for everyone with Komplete Can you use Maschine MK3 without a computer? Can you use Maschine without software? How do I activate Maschine? Can you buy just the Maschine Software?
